About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join the I Can Read Alam Sutera centre in South Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' English language development. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, effective English language instruction to secondary-level students, fostering their confidence, fluency, and love of the English language. This role is integral to our mission of providing excellence in language education and creating an inspiring learning environment where students thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, well-structured English language lessons aligned with curriculum standards and student learning objectives
• Create inclusive classroom environments that support diverse learning needs and encourage active student participation
• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to promote learning
• Plan and prepare high-quality lesson materials, resources and learning activities that enhance student engagement and comprehension
• Build positive relationships with students, fostering confidence and motivation in their English language learning journey
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements and areas for development
• Contribute to the centre's wider educational objectives and participate in staff development activities and professional learning opportunities
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and achievements
• Support the creation of a positive, safe and respectful school culture

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Proven teaching experience at secondary level, ideally within a language learning or international education setting
• Strong command of English language, with excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging, student-centred learning experiences that motivate and inspire secondary-level learners
• Experience in developing and adapting curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
• Knowledge of contemporary language teaching methodologies and best practices in English language instruction
• Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to a team environment
• Relevant teaching qualifications or certifications (such as TEFL, TESOL or equivalent) are highly desirable
• Experience working in Indonesian educational contexts or with multilingual student populations is an advantage
